life is better with a book
The books I review are either my own purchases or ARC copies gotten directly from the publisher or a galley site (sometimes from a contest). I accept paper copies and e-books, preferably Kindle ready. I generally do not review self-published works; I have to draw the line somewhere.
My favorite types of books are literary fiction, fantasy, post-apocalyptic stories, and mystery. I also read some science-fiction, some crime and thrillers, and I love a good cozy. I love a very well written paranormal story, as well as high quality narrative nonfiction. I like non-superhero style graphic novels, as long as they are not too graphic. I am always trying to read diverse books. Horror and romance are generally not my cup of tea, but if they come well recommended, they will be considered.
If the book I am reviewing is an ARC or the result of contest win, it will be disclosed. Most ARC paper copies will either be gifted or offered as a sweepstakes to readers.
If you wish to know whether or not I am interested in reviewing your book, please contact me at contact.bookhaven@gmail.com. I will happily let you know whether or not I am interested, and an approximate window in which the review will appear. I prefer at least a month after receipt, preferably 2, to complete a review, depending on how busy I am at the time.
I do not promise to review every book received. This is a site that I run for pleasure, not for money, and time is limited. If I do review your book, I do not promise a favorable review, but I do promise a respectful and fair one. All reviews are my own.
All reviews will be publicized on Goodreads, Twitter, and Facebook.

Privacy
Any information collected from site visitors will NEVER be shared for any reason, whether for contests or email newsletter sign-ups or for anything else.
Information collected in contest entries will only be used in fulfulling the contest. Under no circumstances will the information be kept after the contest has ended. (You will have to enter your address with each contest, for this reason.)
If for any reason I want to use part of an email correspondence we have had, I will acquire permission from the emailer first, with no exceptions.
Comment policy
I love it when blog visitors/members/readers comment or have book discussions using this a forum. That being said, there will be times when I will not have time to answer each comment, though they will all be read by me.
I use the Disqus commenting system. They will mark some posts as spam, but I will review these and release them as is called for. I DO NOT moderate comments.
However, I WILL NOT tolerate trolling or spam. If your comments are antagonizing or wholy unrelated to the topic at hand, or abusive in any way, I will absolutely delete them. If one of your comments is deleted, feel free to email me and ask me why, and I will be happy to explain.
